Esme is 2!

I can't believe our sweet Esme is two! We celebrated her birthday pandemic-style, but complete with all her favorite things - Elsa, Anna, and cupcakes.

Because it got dark so early (thanks, Daylight Savings), I did not get many photos. Esme's aunt and uncle sent her a beautiful Anna dress, which she now refuses to take off.

Esme is not quite old enough to interview, but here are a few things about Miss Esme at age 32...

Favorite food: pizza and pouches

Favorite movie: Frozen (both 1 and 2)

Favorite book: Anything by Elsa Beskow, The Poky Little Puppy

Favorite song: The entire Frozen soundtrack

Favorite show: "Minky" (Mickey, as in Mickey Mouse)

Favorite things to do: Play with her sisters, dress up and sing along to Frozen songs, go to the playground, read books

Favorite clothes: Her "pee-jamas"

Milestones: Esme is can speak in full sentences, and we can understand her most of the time. She feeds herself and can drink from a big girl cup without spilling (most of the time). Esme can count to ten and knows the words to a lot of songs (mostly Frozen). She is still sleeping in a crib, and we have not started potty-training yet... to be honest, we are not in a hurry for either! She can take her time, so I can stay in denial about how quickly she is growing up.

Esme, your dimples and laughter bring so much joy to our world. You are smart, independent, and so sweet. Esme means "esteemed or beloved", and that is what you are! Happy birthday, beloved girl!

Halloween

I am very late in posting photos from Halloween this year, but better late than never! This year, we resurrected the Family Costume and all dressed up as characters from Alice in Wonderland...

Lucy was the Queen of Hearts, Alice was Alice (of course), and Esme was the white rabbit.

Morgan dressed up as the Mad Hatter, and I was the Cheshire Cat.

Our neighbors were really wonderful... several houses participated and made it possible for us to safely trick-or-treat inspite of the pandemic. There were so many creative things, including a cooler with adult treats (beer) at one house. Because - let's be honest - it's 2020, and I think they knew we needed it.

Hope you all had a fun and safe Halloween!
