Remember the nest we discovered in the wreath on our front door? Well, now, instead of one tiny, perfect egg, there are three tiny, perfect eggs. The mama bird is a little finch. Sometimes, she flies inside our house and calmly perches on our furniture. She doesn't seem worried about us (or even about the dogs). She's such a proud mom.
P.S. The house we wanted to buy didn't work out. The FHA inspection was a total bust. Morgan and I were really disappointed, but it just wasn't meant to be. We decided to stay put for the summer (and take advantage of our pool!). Then, maybe we will try again. I loved that little house. It set the bar high.

Saying Goodbye
This morning, we had to take my parents to the airport. I hate goodbyes. But we had such a fun visit. And in just a month and a half, we will be making our long journey back to Georgia.
Easter Sunday was beautiful. The sun came out, and we were able to have our egg hunt for the kids outside. Everything is starting to turn green here... finally! The trees are blossoming. Daffodils are springing up all over the place. We ate a big potluck lunch with everyone from church. It was such a fun holiday, and I'm glad my parents could be there to celebrate with us.
Yesterday, we drove up to Rocky Mountain National Park. It was raining when we left Fort Collins, but by the time we got up to Estes Park, the sun was beginning to break through the clouds. It turned out to be a gorgeous day!

The elk came down into the valleys to graze. They were right by the side of the road, unconcerned with all the passing cars and paparazzi.
Silly.
We were sorry to say our goodbyes this morning. I told my parents I wanted to sneak in their suitcases, back to Georgia where it's actually WARM. I guess I can wait until June :)
Happy Easter! He is risen!

Boy Time, Girl Time
Today, the weather decided it wanted to snow again. We made the most of our Saturday, though. We took my parents to breakfast at Snooze, and then we went to a birthday party for Grace (I can't believe she's one year old!!!). Afterwards, we split up for a little boy time, girl time. My mom and I went shopping. And then we went to my favorite bakery and had a cup of tea. And then we got our nails done.

Into the Foothills
My parents arrived safely in Fort Collins. Today, the weather was beautiful, so we decided to take them on a little hike.
The "A" Trail
Georgie and Sadie chasing prairie dogs...
Me and my mama.
The boys.
My parents are so good-looking.
Horsetooth Reservoir
We just had a yummy dinner in and watched the King's Speech. Then we had a Skype date with John, who is back in Athens, taking care of Penny while my parents are gone. It was awesome to have the whole family together at once! It felt like old times :)

Here Come My Parents!
My parents are coming to visit! They fly in tomorrow morning. I am so excited to see them. The last time we were together, we were all in Georgia for Christmas. This will be their first time visiting us in Colorado. I can't wait!

Brand New Life
This morning we heard birds chirping outside out front door. We found this tiny little nest, tucked away inside our wreath, with this single, tiny, perfect egg inside.
It's so amazing how Creation reflects the resurrection life. I love glimpses like this, small reminders that life is precious and persevering against all odds.
Morgan and I always try to take Fridays off. It's the only day we can really both take off together. We slept in and ate a late breakfast. We're about to leave for the flea market. Later tonight, there's an Indiana Jones marathon at the theater down the street. Happy Weekend!

Spring
Springtime has come to Fort Collins. It's official. The weather lately has been so beautiful and so warm.
Springtime in Colorado is so different from Spring in the south. It's not green and rainy here. It's dry and windy. And we're not supposed to plant things until after Mother's Day (the day it's supposedly finished snowing for the year -- even though last year, it snowed after Mother's Day). I am so excited to plant a garden. I was researching the other day, all about how to grow things in this climate. I will have to plant things that are tough and can stand the dry, mountain climate.
George likes to smell the flowers :)

Sweet Rocky Mountains
Today we went to Copper for maybe our last time this season. It was beautiful and warm today. And I don't think I will ever get used to looking at those mountains. Gorgeous.
