Today my friend's little girl had her second birthday party in the park. Nothing says happiness like two-year-olds running around, chasing bubbles with cake all over their little faces. It was contagious.

S'more Please
Here we are, Day One of the Week That Shall Not Be Mentioned. I made it through somehow. Probably because of this:

We had a cookout and made s'mores last night. I do love a good s'more.
Morgan made it safely to RYM. I am glad he will get to spend the week with our awesome kids. I am trying not to be jealous.
I wish I had something really exciting to say, but the truth is, I am tuckered out. I feel like my mind ran a marathon today. I am going to snuggle up in my bed and dream about s'mores. I am going to dream about eating s'mores on the beach.

Oh Hail
Last night we got together with some of our friends for dinner. We grilled lamb and brats over the fire pit and ate outside in the backyard. We had the projector all set up to watch an outdoor movie, when all of the sudden, it started to rain. And thunder. So we moved the party inside.
Here we are playing outside, before all hail broke lose. Ha.
On the way home, it began to rain and lightning. Then, all of the sudden, we heard this loud clattering sound. It was hailing so hard, we were afraid for our car. We could hardly see out the front windshield. Fortunately, we were almost home. We pulled into the parking lot and waited in the car, afraid we would sustain bodily injury if we tried to make a break for it. The hail was falling hard in big chunks. It was setting off car alarms and probably bruising the arms and legs of the poor cyclists we passed a few moments earlier. When it finally calmed down enough for us to make a run for it, we did. We dodged through the hail like a couple of ninjas.Cut to our arrival, soaking wet, in our apartment, where we discovered we forgot to close our windows. Oops.
I am going to do a toe-touch tomorrow when it's finally the weekend.

Memorial Day Hike
Hope you all had a nice Memorial Day and long weekend. We went on a hike up in the mountains. There was still snow on the ground up there! Colorado is a strange place.
The hike was beautiful! The pups came with us. Georgie decided that she wanted to eat all the poop she could find on the trail.
On the way home, we got a flat tire. The boys had to change the tire during a crazy wind storm. It was manly. I sat with the dogs. I used Sadie as a shield to block the insane wind. It was all a great adventure. Today, I am so sore I can hardly walk. But it was worth it.

Coming Home
This is what it is like to come home when you have been out of town for any amount of time:
Dishes in the sink. Dogs with a major case of the crazies. And some foul smells coming from the fridge. All the makings of an Alfred Hitchcock movie.

Tonight, we're headed to dinner with friends. I am making the Famous Banana Pudding for dessert. And bringing some of those cherries we could not resist buying the other night :)

Ben and Meg's Wedding
We were in the South this past weekend for Morgan's cousin's wedding. It was great fun. At times, too much fun. {If you were there, you know just what I mean.}

My husband is good lookin. That's all I'm going to say.
Meg looked beautiful!
We are happy to be home, but man did we miss the South. The food. The people. The trees. The heat. Even the humidity. We are excited to go back next month.
P.S. Confession. I didn't feel like cooking tonight, so we went and ate dinner at Whole Foods. Somehow, we left Whole Foods with $12 worth of red cherries and an absurd amount of Gruyere cheese. Why?
